市場調査・コンサルティング会社のシード・プランニングは、太陽光発電システムを導入している「既存ユーザー」300人に対してインターネットで調査を行い、調査結果を発表した。

　購入目的は、1位「電気代の削減」、2位「売電収入期待」、3位「環境への貢献」。購入後の満足度は90％を超える。

　購入時の心配事は、1位「初期投資額の大きさ」、2位「故障」、3位「電気代削減できるか」。購入者の半数は心配事を残しながらも購入に踏み切っている。その理由は「将来的な期待をこめて」「少なくとも環境に貢献できる」など。

　この調査は、東日本大震災以降、電力事情の影響で、太陽光発電などの再生可能エネルギーに注目が集まっていること、太陽光発電システムの市場拡大に伴って情報や販売方法が多様化し、ユーザーと販売事業者をつなぐチャネルが多様化していることを受けて行われた。
